FOR NEW PATIENTS

Dr. Welty is currently only accepting child and adolescent new patients.

We are not part of any insurance plan and are an out-of-network provider. 

Check with your insurance company to see what they contribute towards an out-of-network appointment. 

You will receive a health insurance claim form at the time of your visit, which can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. 

The decision to begin a new medication is an important one, and Dr. Welty believes in a collaborative, cooperative and open approach when medications are considered. Risks, benefits, side effects of medications are discussed at length. Lab tests are discussed and ordered. Copies of recent labs and physical examinations are requested. 

Alternate treatments, including supplements, diets,  and complementary treatments, are discussed. 

Dr. Welty encourages open communication and follow-ups with  the office between scheduled appointments to facilitate  the pace of medication  progress. 

The timing of follow-up appointments depends  on the conditions treated, and are mutually agreed upon by Dr. Welty and the patient and family. Generally, new patients are seen every two to four weeks until stable, and then every month to three months after that. Longer-term patients can be  seen every three to six months.

Traditional therapy is usually not provided at this office, except in a few cases. Therapists in the community have established a good working relationship with Dr. Welty, and this ongoing collaborative relationship improves our patients' progress. We will ask for a signed exchange of information form before discussing your treatment. 

Consistency with your appointments will result in faster progress with your treatment. We all know that life happens, though, and occasionally you might forget your appointment. 

Our office policy asks that you notify us within 24 hours if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. 

We will charge for the entire appointment after the second missed appointment.
